In the article this man–a developer of vestige private lands remaining within grand parcels of national wilderness–has a point, though his capitalistic values are extreme and he fails to consider externalities not accounted for on dollars and cents balance sheets. Herein lies his ignorance, and certainly his lack of higher cultural understanding and social context. Regardless, there is something profound rooted within the dichotic American spirit of nationalism and wilderness vs. personal gain sketched within the context of the deals he pursues.
